Bakeware Wishlist: 2019 Fall

When I was younger, I remember helping my grandma make Thanksgiving dinner. She’d get up at 3 or 4 in the morning to put the turkey that she had seasoned up earlier in the week in the oven. Waking up to the turkey in the oven was easily the best way to wake up! Why couldn’t Thanksgiving be every day???

Bakeware wishlist: Thanksgiving table setting
Grandma always has the table nice and set for the Thanksgiving meal

We’d make apple and pumpkin and sometimes even pecan pie days in advance so that the oven could hold the essentials that could only be cooked the day of. I learned recipes that most others are still dying to get their hands on. But, above all, I spent valuable time bonding with my grandmother.

Bakeware Wishlist: My love for cooking and baking

My maternal grandmother is the only grandmother I still have alive as my dad’s mom committed suicide long before I was even a thought.

Therefore, she and I have always had a really close relationship.

I call her daily and we share our latest recipes from time to time.

Ever since she got an iPad for her birthday, we’ve Facetimed a bunch and she calls me whenever she needs technical support since I have the most patience and explain things in ways only she would understand.

She amazes me daily and especially now as I watch her evolve and find a new normal since my uncle passed away nearly 3 years ago.

One of her passions is creating art for her church through decorating and she creates food art with every meal that she makes. I aspire to be a little like her every single day.

Fall Bakeware Wishlist

There are a few classics that I like to make every fall like pumpkin spice muffins and apple pie.

  1. I have the same memory of Thanksgiving – waking up early to help my grandma get the turkey in the oven. My grandma has been gone for twelve years but the memory brings a smile to my face.
