Recipes for Jello Shots: How to Make Jello Shots

Any time is the best time for some jello shots. I am going to be sharing 4 recipes for jello shots that I absolutely love!

Every summer my mom will keep jello shots in the fridge to make sure that she has something to bring to any event that she goes to.

I picked up the Peach/Blue Raspberry recipe below from her!

These shots are bound to bring the life to any party. I’ve never shared these recipes with anyone. But, I thought that you should be the first to know. 😉

Jello shots are a fun and refreshing way to indulge in some alcohol without sipping on a beer that eventually gets warm. 🤢

I particularly am not a fan of alcohol but one of two of these will have you feeling just fine 👌🏽

Without further ado, here are my 4 best recipes for jello shots.

Strawberry Margarita Mix Jello Shots

Ingredients

1 cup of boiling water

1 3-ounce (small) package of Strawberry Jell-o

2/3 cup lime Margarita mix

1/3 cup of Tequila

Instructions

  1. You’ll need the following supplies

2. Boil the water

3. While you’re waiting, lay out the jello shot cups on a cookie sheet. (Your future self will thank you for doing this. It makes transporting the shots to the fridge so easy)

You can use any brand of alcohol and margarita mix. I used these because they’re inexpensive and still taste good.

4. After laying out the jello shot cups, pour the Tequila and Margarita mix into the small measuring cup and place in the freezer. You want your alcohol to be extra cold.

5. Mix the Strawberry jello with 1 cup of boiling water in the large measuring cup with a whisk until the jello crystals have dissolved.

6. Add the Margarita mix and Tequila. Stir again.

7. Pour into jello cups.

8. Chill until set, about 2 to 4 hours.

9. After the jello has set, put the lids on the cups.

10. Makes about 15 2-oz jello shots.

Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of tequila and margarita mix depending on how strong you want your shots. The only rule is that the combination of the two liquids should come out to 1 cup in total.
  • If you want a sweeter version with lots of strawberry flavor, substitute the lime margarita mix for strawberry margarita mix.
  • These are the best margarita mix jello shots as they are super yummy and they are really easy to make.

Tipsy Teddies

Ingredients

2 cups of alcohol (I used 1 cup of tequila and 1 cup of vodka just to test them out)

1 8 ounce bag of gummy bears

Instructions

  1. You’ll need the following supplies
  • cookie sheet
  • jello shot cups with lids

2. Lay out the jello shot cups on a cookie sheet.

3. Add 5-7 gummy bears to each cup

4. Fill each cup with about 1-2 ounces of alcohol. Just enough to cover the bears. (the more you put in the stronger they’ll be)

5. Put the lids on the cups and put them in the fridge. The longer you wait to eat them, the more the alcohol will have absorbed. I like to wait at least 48 hours to let the alcohol fully absorb.

*Remember to shake the bears every so often so that they evenly get to absorb the alcohol and so that the bears don’t stick to the cup*

Notes

  • You can add just about any liquor to the gummy bears and they will taste yummy. You can also use any type of gummy. I’ve seen gummy sharks, Swedish fish, and even gummy worms get used before.
  • Eating 5-7 bears is considered to be one regular shot

Peach/Blue Raspberry Vodka Jell-O Shots

Ingredients

1 cup of boiling water

1 3-ounce (small) package of Peach/Blue Raspberry Jello

1 cup of ice-cold vodka for jello shots

Instructions

  1. You’ll need the following supplies
  • kettle or pot
  • cookie sheet
  • large measuring cup with spout
  • small measuring cup
  • whisk
  • jell-o shot cups with lids

2. Boil the water

3. While you’re waiting, lay out the jello shot cups on a cookie sheet. (Your future self will thank you for doing this. It makes transporting the shots to the fridge so easy)

4. After laying out the jello shot cups, pour the Vodka into the small measuring cup and place it in the freezer. You want your alcohol to be extra cold.

5. Mix the Peach/Blue Raspberry jello with 1 cup of boiling water in the large measuring cup with a whisk until the jello crystals have dissolved.

6. Add the cold Vodka. Stir again.

7. Pour into jello cups.

8. Chill until set, about 2 to 4 hours.

9. After the jello has set, put the lids on the cups.

10. Makes about 15 2-oz jello shots.

Notes

  • *Warning* these jokers are strong so proceed with caution!
  • May cause spontaneous twerking
  • Again, you can mix these with any type of alcohol. I particularly like mixing my peach with whiskey.

White Russian Pudding Shots

Ingredients

1 3-ounce (small) package of Instant Chocolate Pudding

3/4 cup of milk

1/4 cup of Vodka

1/2 cup of Irish Cream

1 8-ounce tub of Extra Creamy Cool Whip

Instructions

  1. You will need the following supplies:

  • medium-sized bowl
  • jello shot cups with lids

2. Mix pudding and milk for a couple of minutes with an electric mixer

3. Add alcohol and mix well

4. Add Cool Whip.

5. Put the pudding mix into the jello shot cups. Be careful not to overfill.

6. Put the tops on the jello shot cups and keep in the freezer until ready to serve.
